About Our School

Located in the lake region of northeast Indiana, Angola High School reflects the demographics of our community. Students come from both a rural and small town setting with only five percent of the population being minority students. Three percent are African American students, one percent is Hispanic students and one percent is Asian students. Twenty-three percent of our students receive free or reduced lunches. As our community grows and business opportunities expand, we see continual changes in our student population. However, we are proud of the tolerance we have for diversity and positive behaviors our students have exhibited. AHS is truly a learning community, involving all students and adults.

Excellent Faculty

We are fortunate to employ some of the finest faculty members in the Midwest. Seventy-three percent of our faculty hold master’s degrees or more. The average teacher tenure is twenty-six years, and this experience shows in student achievement. Two of our teachers have authored several books on teaching strategies and are nationally recognized for their efforts. Fifteen of our faculty have presented workshops to teachers in four states in an effort to help others improve their profession. Teachers are the most important ingredient in a student’s success. We are proud to have some of the very best at AHS.

Modern Facilities

The facilities at Angola High School are modern and extremely adaptable to learning. The building opened in 1990 and appears today to be brand new. The totally climate-controlled building features Internet access in all rooms, real-time video conferencing capabilities, state-of-the-art science labs and much more. The building simply provides the comfort and positive environment for learning to occur.

Student Opportunities

Numerous options are available to our students. Among them are workplace studies, internships, and classes at Trine University’s Middle College. Students have the opportunity to graduate with several college credits and unique real-life experiences. We hope you will contact our school personnel for more details on these and other unique programs available to our students.
