Daily Announcements

Voting for Prom King and Queen is now open.  Go to Guidance page on the AHS website.  Voting closes tomorrow at 3:00 pm.

This is a reminder to all students interested in becoming a student council member or a class officer for next school year that your completed packets are due on April 30th to either Mrs. Maksimchuk or Ms. Gerba.

Any Academic team member that would like to ride the bus to State needs to see Mr. Opper by the end of the day today.  Also, money for Cedar Point is due Tuesday, May 1st.

You are invited to Australia and New Zealand Summer 2020!  Be sure to join us for an informational session on Wednesday, May 2nd from 4:30-5:00 pm in the Media Center for a mandatory meeting.  There is also a mandatory RSVP on the invite flyer.  Be sure to get an invite flyer from your homeroom teacher or Mrs. Covey.

Health will be offered 1st semester of summer school, please see guidance if you would like to sign up.

The Angola Fire Department is looking for new members of the volunteer staff.  Applicants must be 18 years old by July 1st to be considered.  See Mr. Police in Guidance for more information.

Groups, organizations, and sponsors:  Check your email for Club group photos for the yearbook.  These submitted photos must be turned in by May 4th otherwise your group may not be included.  Also, Seniors check your email for an important message about Senior quotes and reply if necessary by tomorrow.

Juniors:  your job shadow forms are due to your English teacher or Mrs. Fordanish by the end of the day today.  If you are still looking for a place to shadow, let Mrs. Fordanish or your English teacher know.

SPORTS NEWS:

Any girls interested in playing Soccer this fall are reminded that information sheets and summer league fees are due this Friday.  See Mr. Police with any questions.

Last night the Boys Track Team defeated Eastside 85-42.  The following guys took 1st place:  Konnor Knoll, 1600; Tony Ordway, Discus & Shot Put; Josh Taylor, 400; Kyler Bourne, 300 Hurdles; Parker Michael, 800; Francesco Pietrella, High Jump; 4x1 of Chase Schenpf, Antonio Luevanos, Anthony Duvendack, and Marques Tagliaferri; 4x4 of Anthony Duvendack, Antonio Luevanos, Parker Michael, and Josh Taylor; 4x8 of Sam Adamson, Francesco Pietrella, Josiah Mortorff, and Parker Michael.

The Lady Hornets Track and Field Team had an outstanding performance last night.  Relay winners were:  4x8 of Toni Mendez, Bailey Letendre, Sarah Duvendack, and Michelle Luna; 4x1 of Ali Cranston, Anna Bella, Sarah Brandt, and Kayla Fenstermaker; 4x4 of Anna Bella, Michelle Luna, Hanna Knoll, and Sarah Brandt.  Individual winners were:  Sarah Brandt, 100; Ali Cranston, 100 and 300 Hurdles; Belle Michael, 400; Emily Land, 800; Mady Mendez, mile; Molly Bell, 2 mile; and Katlyn Brown, Long Jump and High Jump.  Also special congrats to the following for huge breakthrough personal best times:  Kayla Fenstermaker and Michelle Luna, 200; Jenn Hamm, 800; Brooklyn Shively, 2 mile; and Avrie Sauer getting under 15 minutes for the first time in her career in the 2 mile.  Way to go Ladies!

Angola Golf defeated Westview and Fairfield in a big NECC match.  Noah Schoenherr was medalist with a score of 37.  The Boys team is now 4-0 in NECC and 6-0 overall.
