Daily Announcements

The next SWARM activity will be tomorrow. All Freshmen should be released to the gym immediately after morning announcements.

Juniors interested in taking the PSAT are reminded that they must sign up in the guidance office before the end of the day tomorrow.

The first blood drive of the 2017-2018 school year is coming up Tuesday, October 3rd from 7:30 am – 1:30 pm.  This is open ONLY to AHS students (16 years and older) and staff.  You can sign up next week during lunches.

There will be a meeting for all newspaper staff today in Mrs. Berger’s room during homeroom.

Students, if you receive school meal benefits, those benefits may end on Wednesday, September 27th if the proper paperwork is not submitted.  Again, if you are receiving school meal benefits, please check with your parents to make sure you have been approved for this current school year.

There will be a meeting for all students enrolled in the 21st Century Scholars program on Wednesday, September 27th after announcements.  Please plan to attend this important meeting in the auditorium.  Students should bring their chrome book with them.

FCA known as Fellowship of Christian Athletes will have our first meeting of the year today during homeroom in the commons area. Kristina Waltman will be our guest for the meeting.  All are welcome to attend.

Juniors and Seniors: Upcoming college representatives visiting Angola High School are:  University of Indianapolis, Monday, September 25th and Anderson University, Thursday, September 28th. Please come to the office immediately after announcements if you are interested in meeting with a representative.  

Anyone interested in learning more about World War I and being part of a wonderful organization, please consider joining the Academic Super Bowl. There will be a call out meeting Tuesday during homeroom in Mr. Opper’s room.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Opper.

Seniors: Be sure to submit your quote for the yearbook.  Turn them into your English or homeroom teacher, or turn them into Ms. McGillem in room 202.


The Hornet Tennis team finished their regular season with a loss to #4 ranked Homestead. The Hornets played very well and challenged Homestead at every spot.  The JV ended its season with their only loss, finishing 15-1.  They were champions of the NECC and the Fremont Invitational.  Tonight, the Hornets play in the first round of the NECC tournament at Lakeland.

College Credit Opportunities

Angola High School provides its students with the most comprehensive list of Advanced Placement and dual credit course offerings in Steuben County.   AHS has articulation agreements with Trine University and with Ivy Tech Community College, granting dual credits in ten different courses.  In addition, AHS students may earn additional dual credits by taking courses on campus at Trine University.  Students also may choose from a variety of Advanced Placement courses. Mission Statement

Angola High School is a partnership of staff, students, and community.  Our mission is to provide a comprehensive quality educational program enabling students to become successful lifelong learners and contributors to society.  To assist in this process, Angola High School offers a traditional, seven-period semester schedule.
